fungal in fections grow on extremely neglected bacterial infections. it's probably a bacterial infection or, if the fish is new, an eye parasite (a recently wild caught fish problem).

Usually clean water and a better diet is all that you need to clear a bacterial infection unless you can QT and medicate. There are no reef friendly antibacterial medications, regardless of what the packages say. (No laws as to what you can/cant sell fish-keepers. I am under the impression there is a particular brand of chemical that is actually bottled ammonia.)

If it's an eye parasite, a FW dip will be best.

If it's a bac infection, kanamycin, metronitizole, or kamycin, or erythromycin would be fine. Ive had best luck with kanamycin. (i probably misspelled it but it's very close to that spelling.)

Whatever you do, if you decide to treat the fish, do not treat the tank. Set up a small 5-10 gallon aquarium wiht a heater and a airpump or small external filter for water movement. Treat the tank, kill your tank. Remove the fish to a quarantine tank and treat it there....
