JJshiv
I just added a pair of oscellaris clowns to my 40 gal reef tank. So far, they have tried to host to the torch coral which may have stung them or irritated them in some way from what I could tell from the way they swam away after touching it, and they have also somewhat succesfully hosted a hammer coral. My question is this, do anenomes retract their tentacles when lights go off like corals do? If so, what do clowns do in the wild when this happens? wouldnt they be quickly devoured by some predator? My little percs just go in the corner and hang out when the lights are off but when they come back on and the hammer is fully extended they are right back in the tentacles. I would get them an anenome, but I am scared that it would damage or kill some of my corals that I have all over the tank. Link to comment
Metznreef
they are fine with just the torch. no need for an anemone, whcih also shrivel up at night i believe. Link to comment
chvynva916
They may have just been adjusting to the Torch coral. I think anenomes have notably stronger stings than even euphylias. Link to comment
