CGNano
How many of us actually do ambient picos? What are your heaters set to? Do you have a thermometer to measure the temp with? Link to comment
aznr3m1x
my 2.5g has no heater..just ART =) Link to comment
mickey85
my 2.5 uses ART. I have a 20W screw in 50/50 PC, millenium 1000 and an 80 mm computer fan. running at 1/2 speed (I have a 2-speed switch on the fan), it stays just about 75-77*. on high speed, it cools it off to 72ish. this is a blower fan, blowing air over the light and water. sdbeazley
I use my central Air Conditioning, temp swings never really happen this far down south in any of my tanks. I use a Lifegard Digital Thermometer Big Digital Temp Alert on all of my tanks. Link to comment
invert
my ambient room temp is 22 deg all year round. i fear this would be too low for me to make a ambient pico? what do you all think? Link to comment
CGNano
You're kidding right? Link to comment
mikej
You're kidding right? Celcius. That's about 74 Fahrenheit, which seems a little cool to me, but should be fine as long as it's steady. Link to comment
phergus_25
thats a fine temp. I try and keep my tanks at 76. I have had a few run higher and didnt think they did as well. Link to comment
aznr3m1x
my tank is about 76 during lights on and around 72-73 when lights off at night.. Link to comment
CGNano
I'm nervous about trying this ambient pico.... If I have my Air Conditioner set to 72 Degrees Farenheit, with the addition of an AC 20 and 18 Watt PC, will my heat be alright? Link to comment

CGNano
Can anyone answer my last question? Link to comment
CGNano
I tried it, and my day temp. got to 78.9 degrees! Measured with a Coralife Digital Thermometer. Anyways, this morning I awoke to a temp. of 71 degrees! I'm wondering if it was because my brother turned the air down to 68 degrees Good thing I haven't put any livestock in yet... Do you think Live Rock could handle it? Link to comment
mickey85
my tank stays about 73* all day (night and day) and it works perfectly and my corals are growing like weeds Link to comment
