Maddog20
I've got a 15 gal Designer tank i want use for a nano. The tank is 24 inches in height, the footprint is 13x13. I was thinking of using 2 of the CSL 28 watt 6700K powerqaud w/ 9 watt actinics. That would put me at 56 watts of 6700K and 18 watts of actinic. Would this be good enough for a tank? All I will have is Soft, mushrooms, maybe an open brain? Thanks Link to comment
Maddog20
Lighting will only be 15 inches from the substrate. With the aquascape it be even closer to the light source. Does the lighting seem intense enough? Link to comment
tinyreef
you're going to have a 9" sandbed? ??? 24" minus 15", right? light should be fine then but what are you expecting to raise? (goby/shrimp teams, shrimp burrowers, gardeneels or something?) if that's a typo then the lights are ok for the low-lighters but not for the brain imo. you may be able to place the brain higher on the rock but they usually fare much better on the substrate. the csl 28w is a little low (output-wise) for that tank imo tho. Maddog20
The viewing area of the tank is only 18inches The tank is 24 inches inches high including the hood. With a 3 inch substrate it 15 inches from the lights in the hood sorry didn't explain well. Some corals I was thinking of were calastrea, green montipora cap, green plate coral, devils hand, shrooms and ricordia and xenia how does these sound with that setup? Any suggestions? Link to comment
