Guest LudavicoTechnique
I was recently scouring the beach in Victoria, B.C and I got this mad idea when I saw a red sea urchin in the water. Couldn't you create a biotope for the animals concentrated in an area? For example, I could test to find the conditions around a certain area of beach in victoria, steal some of the rock, and replicate that environment in a 55 gal aquarium. Then, get some livestock via cages and spearing and what have you and have a little Vancouver Island biotope. Would that be possible? The red sea urchin was really cool and big, I'd say about a foot high. Link to comment
NanoReefer53
isn't the water cold there though ? u would need a chiller to keep it in the conditions it came from. Link to comment
Guest LudavicoTechnique
yeah, like I said, replicate the conditions of the water around it. Link to comment
Jay Fortay
if you spear them......? won't you have a dead fish biotope? :/ Link to comment
JIM27
Thats what I was thinking Jay. LudavicoTechnique: I think its definetly possible. I'm actually planning on doing the same thing with stuff from the tide pools over here in Northern California. Link to comment

Guest LudavicoTechnique
By spear I meant spear catch. You dont have to kill them, it's just like little prongs. :mgwhore: Link to comment
Guest LudavicoTechnique
And i'll be sure not to be caught by the beach police! I hear when they catch you they tie you up and feed you to huge KOI! With massive, thick wiskers!! Link to comment
