Well it finally came in after 3 weeks... First one came in cracked same with second one. Heres a shot I am in the process of building a wet dry filter into it.

Just make it a wet filter and skip the bio balls or other media. Fill it with about an inch of sand and 3 - 4 inches of LR rubble. That should leave 3 - 4 inches to grow some cheato with a tiny grow light on a reverse day/night schedule. That would keep your water pretty pristine.

Another rout is to go with the AC-200 or AC-300 (aqua clear, by Hagan [spell]). I think they go by different numbers now maybe the AC-50 or AC-70.

You do the same thing to this with the sand, LR ruble, and cheato. Plus there is the added benefit of increasing your system volume and adding some nice water flow. Most small heaters will also fit into the AC filters.

The AC filters can really increase system flow and can be throttled back. It doesn’t really slow down the pump speed, but will increase circulation inside of the filter box. That means that there is longer contact time with the living media, actually a very good thing in small systems.

Another thing that the AC refugium system allows for is a piece of acrylic to be over the tank to help keep evaporation down but the AC box is left open so you still have gas exchange, yes this will lead to some evaporation but not as much as a fully opened system.

good luck.

According to pic above, looks like right side is the intake, then flow goes thru the baffles, and then out the loc-line nozzle (sorry for answering for ya, guppy).
