Egglite and Refugium Question

Hi all,

 

I'm thinking about doing the egglite mod (for simplicity) and have a general questions about that:

 

1. How many hours a day do you keep the light on?

2. What's the bulb duration like (i.e. how often do they need replacement)?

3. Can the use of a refugium in a 12DX replace the use of a skimmer?
