Thanks in advance for the honesty and passing helpful advice to my numerous and dumb questions. I have two I would like to ID #1:

The leafy stuff.

There are no dumb questions. Just dumb answers ;)

If you never had any questions you would be the 1st EVER! LOL!

sO its all good!

No as for the pics, I can make heads or tail of them guy?

I think I see what your meaning in the 1st but niether are detailed enough for me to make a posetive id on anything.

can you possibly get a more in focused pic? Try turning the tank lights out and taking a pics with just the flash. Usualy produces MUCH more detailed and clearer pics.

Are they really soft and flowy or kind of tough? The former, I'd say bryopsis or some other nasty algae; the latter, I'd say "red feather kelp", not true kelp but a nice macro of some kind.

It stands straight up from the rock doesn't matter which way it's facing (on the side points straight out). So I would say hardy. Plus the brown stuff (diatoms. correct?) is starting to cover it. If that helps....Thanks
