icenine
I have some ideas as to what this is, but I thout I would post it and get some opinions from folks here. During my vacation tank trials I had some die off on my xenia rock, this revield an anemone like hitchiker that was hidden on the rock they were on. In the weeks that the tank had been recovering a second of these has appeared. It has a hard tubular base that it extends from but I've not seen it exactly retract into the tube. It's tenticals are light brownish (but its not aptasia to be sure) with white tips (thats kinda hard to see in the picture). These do not seem to bother the xenia they are near, while the xenia in the picture may look like it's trying to get away from them, it's in the position it's in becuse I knocked it loose during a recent frag mounting project. (doh!) Thanks in advance if you were kind enought to respond.... Here is a pic: Link to comment
reef n ale
Wow, it almost looks like a button polyp. Maybe? Rob Link to comment
icenine
Not a button polyp... esp after the second one popped up they are creating a hard stone like tube the head comes out of. Link to comment
reef n ale
Sounds kinda cool. Is there any way to get a closer pic? I have heard of tube anemones before...I think. Don't know much about them though. Rob Link to comment
