baller588 Posted August 26, 2005 Share Posted August 26, 2005 I have a 24gallon nano cube with about 20 lbs of live rock and have 2 false perculas in there and a small clean up crew. I really wanted a dwarf lion fish but was wondering if it would be comfortable with my tank or not? Even if i have to get rid of the two clowns that are already in it? Link to comment
lgreen Posted August 26, 2005 Share Posted August 26, 2005 Although a neat idea, and very tempting, I would not suggest doing that. You have to keep in mind that a dwarf lion still gets to be about 3.5-4 inches full size. This really would not give it much swimming room. These fish should be in at least a 30+ g tank. Even though your tank is 24g, some water volume is lost to rock and that back compartment, so you really only have probably about 18 gallons of real water. Not to mention the feeding requirements of this fish would make maintaining water quality difficult in a smaller tank. Link to comment
