Hyshnari
Hey guys. I'm looking into getting a couple H. capensis seahorses which require temps of 66-72 degrees (although temporary spikes up to 75 degrees are permissible). I've got an apartment, which I'm working on getting an air conditioner for (of course, it doesn't seem to fit in my window, so we're fiddling with it). But I don't want to depend on the air conditioner, since it's not too cost efficient, so I'm looking into a chiller. I'm considering either a 20g acrylic or 29g acrylic (I hear acrylic holds temperature better). My 10g glass tank had its top temperature spike at 80 degrees last summer in a non-air conditioned apartment, so I figure I'll need a chiller which can, at the very least, lower the temps by 5 degrees. I can run the air conditioner on really hot days, so perhaps not even that much. Though lower is better, since the ideal is 66-72 degrees. Any suggestions? Should I use fans instead? Any small chillers for my tank size out on the market? Thanks in advance, -Jennifer Link to comment
