stock nc 24 wt ballast use?

can i use the stock 24wt nc ballast to light up 2 (9 wt) bulbs?

 

i connected them and they light up, just want to make sure its ok

You're probably slightly overdriving each individual bulb, which will slightly reduce the lifespan of the bulbs. Why not just add another 24w? I assume you want to do this mod so you can run daylight and actinic.

i noticed the bulbs when i connected look alot brighter than they normally do. im using the 2 9 wts to add morning night actinic. also the space i have between my mh is limited so a 24 wt would not fit.
