Lil_Ocean
Got a pair of Oceallaris clowns on Saturday. Female is OK, no symptoms. Male, however not eating, labored breathing, staying near surface of water, seems to be agitated- swimming seems weak? for lack of a better word. I've pretty much determined this to be brooklynella. My question is what is the best way to treat? We also have a cleaner shrimp, 3 scarlet hermits and 6 snails. Can we leave the fish in the tank with the others or should we quarantine both of them? Will hyposalinity help? Is formalin enough or should we add malachite green also? Any info is appreciated Link to comment
Six
you dont want to medicate a tank with invertebrates. if the fish is brand spankin new to the tank, it could be stress. make sure the water quality is good and the fish isnt getting harassed. do you see visible signs of disease? how long has the fish been in the tank when you first posted? if it's less than 24 hours, that sounds like a rough aclimation. was the fish mail order of locally bought? how big are they? what size tank are they in and with what else?
