BCOrchidGuy Posted December 8, 2002 Share Posted December 8, 2002 You can use them but the bulb has to be matched to the ballast for out put, IE if it is a 1000 watt ballast you can only use a 1000 watt bulb, smaller doesn't work. The ballast is probably a Tar or magnetic one, they sometimes can be very noisy, the other thing is they run HOT HOT HOT so keep them away from flamables etc. Link to comment
