DKreefkeepers Posted July 20, 2005 Share Posted July 20, 2005 I saw once a custom hood that someone made for their 12g NC that totlaly replaced the stocker and it held a HM bulb. I was toying with the idea and sticking 2 x 70 w MH in it or going with a single 150 and actinics... Has anyone ever made one of these before? If so how did you make the wood bend to the curve of the front glass? To me this seem sliek a great way to add superior lighting and also add a skimmer hanging off of the rear..... any input? MattGecko Posted July 21, 2005 Share Posted July 21, 2005 I have tried 150w and dual 70w in a 6" canopy and it heats the tank up to much. It would probable work if the canopy was 15" tall with two 120mm fans in the back. Hanging a pendant might be your best bet. I am still building canopies but only 1 every month or two.
