Sara
I noticed my new clown has a funny growth on its chin. It looks like a white wort. What is it? Maybe a fungus? What kind of treatment should I do? I have MelaFix, and it says it can be used for Fresh and Salt, and treats Mouth Fungus. What do you guys think? Sorry I couldn't get a pic, but she moves too fast! lol Sara BTW- She's been in a QT since day one, so no worries about contaminating the my main tank. Link to comment
Six
viral infection. tank rasied clowns are very well known to get it. like the flu/common cold/herpes in humans, there isnt a treatment. It will come and go. just make sure the fish can eat and he/she will be fine. Link to comment
Six
it's more than likely not a fungus. Fungal infections are white and stringy. Bac infections are blotchy and sometimes red. viral infections are very predominent and cauliflower looking at times. usually the lymph is present at the edges of fins or gill covers. they can get it on their mouths as well.
