Mothi
I got it as a red kelp on rock.. but what specifically is it so I can make sure I am caring for it right. Side view, tank is still cloudy so bear with it. Top view: Sorry the pictures are a bit horrible quality wise. Link to comment
Six
i doubt its kelp. there arent many vascular plants, like kelp, available to hobbyists. (not easy to keep) it's probably a marine macroalgae, perhaps Gracillaria? i dunno if i spelled that right. but looking into macroalgae instead of at kelps will probably help. usually the red species of macroalgae need higher available nutrients. in a new tank, it's hard to say how well it will do many places label algae as kelp or "seaweed" to sell it. though many hobbyists know macroalage isnt bad, the term "algae" can strike fear in many newbies.
