Guest nicoj122
i would agree with you except for one thing. that link says it has indo-pacific origins, while i am located in the caribbean. i fished the snails out myself from a local beach. do a google image search for "astrea snail" you will see many pics of coralline covered astrea snails, also known as florida turbo snails. i still think they are astreas and if so will probably go pick up some more soon. i have 4 in my 10g right now. would like at least 6-7 Link to comment
Caesar777
There are several species of Astraea, and that's one of them. Link to comment
Guest nicoj122
Thanks caesar. how many of these would be ideal? i was thinking of 6-7. currently i have 4 Link to comment
Caesar777
In a ten gallon? I think the four you have would be sufficient for now. You don't seem to have much algae, and remember that they can starve without enough food to graze. (Supplement their diet with Nori, dried seaweed, if you think they need it.) Link to comment
