anyone heard of this starfish???

i has looking into my tank tonight with the night light on and i saw this black and white striped thing swim past :woot: . As it turned out it was a brittle star.

What i was wondering has anyone heard on the Schayer's Brittle Star Ophionereis schayeri brittle star?

 

If so could you help me out as i cannot find any info on it.

PERHAPS you spelled it wrong, as there is a similar species. These are smooth armed (To the best of my knowledge).

It appears to be a Caribbian Sand Brittle you have. Quite cool and harmless.

I to have seen this star before. Its harmless and reef compatable. It will come out at night and eat you ditrius and small organisms. It will not tolerate any copper based meds though. Cool star.
