Ilove2ride
I am upgrading my Eclipse II hood into, (finally) a nano reef. My tank is 24 gallons... here are the stats Temp- 78 Salinity- 1.024-5 pH- 8.2 and rising Nitrate- 15-20 ppm.. .trying to lower! Ammonia- 0 Nitrite- 0 24 gallons BakPak 2R Eclipse lighting... WILL use Fluval with floss only, and Skimmer with ViaAqua Lighting with Helios (2 by 55 watt) Epo Jager Heater 20 lbs of LR and LS 6 snails, 1 hermit 1 cleaner shrimp 1 feather duster + a christmas tree worm 1 Sand sifting starfish Sixline wrasse (small) False Perc Clown (small) Firefish in Quarantine (had ick 2 weeks ago... ) Tank is almost a year old Using Marine Snow, Kent Superbuffer, and Instant ocean, + R/O WAS using tap water, and ocean water (= high nitrate, phosphate, low buffering) There MAY be a trace of copper in the tank X) Hopefully i am just being paraniod... I used a container to take out the copper water in my Q tank, filled it up using the same container with salt water many times to fill it back up(rinse) and then used it for my main tank's water (accidentally).... After I get many more water changes carried out, and pH stable (+ new lighting) and hair aglea taken care of, I want to add corals. Star polyps, fox coral, bubble coral, leather coral... Do you see anything wrong with my setup and plan? Which corals do you like? What about a clam, near the surface? If I dont see any ick, when can I add the firefish? Lastly, thank you so much for reading this... Link to comment
