Foogoo
Are there any other sources for moisture resistant PC encaps other than hellolights? Link to comment
tanakiye
you can make your own. use silicone to waterproof your wire connections and any other sensitive area. much cheaper and works just as well. Link to comment

tanakiye
sure. dont buy aquarium silicone. use regular old silicone, he kind you use to seal windows and such. when you apply the silicone dont push it into the openings/contacts...just lay a THIN layer over all the sensitive parts. then when you need to change something, you can just strip it right off. make sure you let the silicone cure before you plug anything back in or put the hood back on. the fumes can be toxic. also, you may want to look into getting a cheapo glass cover (you can get a piece of glass cut at HD or lowes) just make sure the glass doesnt completely cover the tank..you have to have some ventilation. anyways, that how my tank is set up, and it been running for a year with no problems.
