I heard that many people turn on their actinics first before the other lights to simulate sunrise. It's kinda hard to do that with a PC setup and one ballast. Is there any harm to clicking on all the lights at once?

not really. i havent notice any major problem with it. what you can try doing is put a switch on the cable hook to the end cap powring the actinic bulb.

If you bring the lights on later in the day and there is some sunlight or other light in the room, its not really an issue. The same goes for shutting them off. I always leave other lights on in the room until a little after the tank lights go out. It helps the fish.
