celebrityovernight Posted June 23, 2005 Share Posted June 23, 2005 hey guys, i got this frag at a lfs a couple months ago, since then it has grew a couple heads. what kind of polyp coral is this? is it a type of zoo? they are much bigger than the standard zoos i see. they are about 1/2 an inch in diameter. thanks Link to comment

Caesar777 Posted June 23, 2005 Share Posted June 23, 2005 Protopalythoa or Palythoa... The lines blur. But they're the same species as the PPE's--that is, people-eaters, yes, just not purple people eaters. No, not worth much, but they're nice nonetheless--be happy with that! Link to comment
RicordeaManiac Posted June 25, 2005 Share Posted June 25, 2005 Protopalythoa for sure. Palythoas aka crater polyps, have no stems and do not prtrude from the base. The resemble small craters andare ugly as sin. Protopalythoas and large diameter polyps with large slit mouths and extended polyp bases. Also they are found in an unbelievably huge color aray.
