s800
My largest stalk of Pulsing Xenia has become a bit "bent over" on itself. It's gone from tall and proud to a bit of a U shape that seems unhealthy. Any tips? It is pretty top heavy with growth- does it need a trim? Or does this indicate it's not happy in some way? I have tried to reposition it to see if it's the current- but no luck. Thanks for any jelp! Link to comment
Satchmo
I'll try to jelp. Xenia can do this, it's a funky coral. How long has it been like this? Are the other stalks healthy and pumping? Every month or two, I'll get a stalk that does this. Usually it will right itself and be OK. I've also had stalks where the polyp heads start to melt for no apparent reason. When I see this, I cut that stalk away and flush 'em so it doesn't spread. My colony has been going strong for several months. It's not top heavy, you shouldn't have to trim them to keep it upright. Just keep an eye on it for a day or so. Sometimes mine will wilt just to grab onto an adjacent rock and spread itself. Link to comment
