MH Bulbs

i m about to buy new bulbs for my 175 W MH system. i m considering the 175W 20K by CoralLife. but i m also keeping my options open. so if everyone can share with me what kind of Mh bulb you have and how it looks. i prefer a white/blue bulb with more blue than white. i was considering the 12K sunburst but was told a few bad things about it.

The CL 175 10,000K is supposed to be a white with heavy blue. I believe I have heard that they are actually around 13,000K, but coral life sells them at 10,000K, if I remember right. I could be mistaken.

 

20,000K is real blue.

The 20,000 is very blue and the 10000 is too white by itself. So either the 10K with a actinic VHO or PC or get the 12,000 which adds a nice little blue.

For what you want a coralife 20k is WAYYYY to blue. A coralife 10k will look much better. A coralife 10k looks close to a 20k in color.

really? bc i m running 2 coralife 10 k in my tank right now. and its a white color.

Actually 20k's arn't as blue as most people think they are. Most of the time if looks really blue in a camera shot but in real life the color is really nice. When burnt in, my 400w 20k looks 60% white and 40% blue. Really nice color, also brings out good coral color without extra actinic supplement.
