Cleanup Crew Observations

It’s been 4 weeks and I finally felt as if I had enough micro algae to sustain additional cleanup crews.

I added three, blue legged hermits and am amazed at how quickly they acclimated and began searching for strands of algae.

These little guys immediately started munching away. They pick up one grain of sand at a time and start turning it over and over until it is cleaned off.

Another observation – I have two Turbo Snails, each appear to have different preferences. One stays on the glass while the other prefers just one piece of live rock.

Is this a normal behavior? Also, I have noticed that they take what appears to be naps or very long breaks where all they do is just sit there and appear to be resting or sleeping. Has any one else noticed these behaviors?

Also, what other critter would you recommend to add to my collection, maybe a good detritus eliminator?

FYI, it’s a 3 gallon with lots of healthy red and green, macro algae.
