O.K......I just had a thought:o .Where I'll be using a mini filter in my 10 gal for movement....would it make sense to add a piece of foam from my existing FRESH water tank to help jump start the cycle? I'll be getting 15 lbs of live cured rock and 10 lbs of live sand in the next few weeks from Palmetto's. I've never seen this question asked..:| Maybe cuz its DUMB??:*(

Laffs - not at all. But I wouldn't worry about "jump starting" your cycle. Just let it run it's course. I ordered my live rock/sand from Palmetto as well (and have more on order now), and speaking from experience, you'll be happy with it, and your cycle should be complete within a couple of weeks.

Good luck!

Nope, not a dumb question. The bacteria that take care of the ammonia/nitrites/nitrates in fw don't live in sw, and vice versa.

Just let the live rock cycle your tank.
