Sushi Posted May 21, 2005 Share Posted May 21, 2005 it doesn't look like a dendro to me, my guess is tubastrea faulkneri or tubastrea aurea. you've seen what dendros look like, and from the pic, it doesn't seem to be quite similar. i posted this in another thread, i dug it up and will post it here again... the pictures are kind of small but you can make out the body/shape polyp appearance if you look carefully. this scan was taken from a japanese coral ID magazine. for what it's worth, i don't think the picture you posted looks like any of the pictures on that page here is a picture from reefermadness of a tubastrea (faulkneri/aurea??) ... and of course the comparison shot of the 2 different species: well, those are my thoughts.... i'm no expert, just giving an educated guess. good luck w/the ID Link to comment
