channah
Godd Morning. When I purchased a coral a couple weeks ago, it had macro algae with the LR. It looks like little tiny grape vines? It grows pretty quickly, it's doubled in size over the last couple weeks. Is it harmful to my corals? Link to comment
Paul G
Probably Racemosa - shouldn't harm your corals unless a large amount dies off or goes sexual. Just keep it pruned so it doesn't overgrow or shade your inverts - it can get quite a hold on live rock though. Link to comment
ross76053
Sounds like grape Caulerpa. Good stuff, but if it starts to turn white, remove it or prune the white parts. It can release tons-o-spores in your tank & may even be somewhat toxic (others can address this better than I). Link to comment
Dave ESPI
http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthread...=&threadid=5620 There are a LOT of good Links in a few post here. TAXIFOLIA is toxic, but most caulerpia is safe. I Personaly an undecided. I LOKE having it in my tanks, but it IS a competetor with other inverts fer nutrients, so as long as it is pruned by "Pinching off" ends and entire runners and not simply strupp ripping it out, it should be fairly stable in the tank.
