Six
Got this guy locally- and I'm trying to get a semi- ID on it. We thought it was a Leptoseris, but after consulting the good man, Julian Sprung and his book Corals, I'm thinking not. Perhaps Colpophyllia (Sprung's book, page 98 ). Any ideas? Just to share, I picked up this sweeter than sweet Lobophyllia - Should color up nice. Thanks in advance! Link to comment
reef hugger
Looking at the same book, it does appear to be a Colpophyllia. It could also be a Manicina areolata f. mayori from pg 97. Link to comment
Six
Anyone keeping one? I'm guessing it's a sllllow grower. It has proven to be a ravenous little coral though. I'm not shy about extending it's feeding tenacles. Thanks for the input! Link to comment

Six
A revelation. This coral was a mariculture from somewhere in the Pacific. That is the origin of this coral. BUT... Mr. Sprung enlightens us in that Colpophyllia is CARRIBEAN. Hrm, Now, I don't think this particular specimen is anything different, it looks exactly like Colpophyllia. Was up with that? Maybe I'll ask Mr. Borneman. He's cuter than Sprung. Link to comment
