i've heard over twenty years. i'd guess they're like trees. ??? i'll check back with you in about twenty years to see if any of mine lasted thru this wife. X)

I'd guess for softies and SPS, if you keep fragging them, they can live forever. Corals are a colony, not really one discrete organism, so I don't think they really have a set lifespan over which they age.

Corals are indeed immortal. Not meaning they can't/don't die. Just that they do not suffer from old age, though they may be eaten, die of disease, etc. In the proper environment. There is no evidence they would ever die.
