Alexraptor
Anyone got a clue how to clean a snail shell? One of my Astreas died a few days ago, from what i found on the net it died of old age, so i am planning on getting a Hermit crab and thought that the shell would make a excelletn extra shell for a hermit, alltho the problem is i need to take and get it cleaned out, clean out the body of the dead snail, since its not a good idea to leave it laying in the tank . :x Right now i have the dead snail in a jar of Freshwater waiting to do something with it Link to comment
jenniebutterfly
just hold it up, most of the gunk should come out, and change the water and rinse again, most of the body should fall out if it has not been eaten by something already Link to comment
tinyreef
:x bleach should dissolve it. just soak/rinse afterwards tho. Link to comment
rocko
Feed it to a starfish. I have got plenty of empty shells by feeding snails (live or dead) to starfish. They eat things completely clean. Link to comment
