Something strange this way comes!!!!

O.K. I don't have a camera so I'll do my best to describe this!! About a month ago I added a new piece of rock. It had lots of color and various things on it, also something that looked like a clam that had long ago been inbedded in the rock and was well dead. BUT THEN!!!! I noticed a tube like thing coming out of it. I didn't pay much attention, thought maybe it was a worm or something. BUT THEN!!!!! Tonight I saw it opening and closing!!!Am I going nuts?? More nuts??? If this thing is alive what the heck do I do with it?? It's well stuck in the rock so it's there for good I think. What's that tube thing? Thanks for suggestions.

It's probably just a small clam as you suspected. I've got several encrusted into my LR. They're purely filter feeders, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Not sure about the tube thing....strange.
