Auryn Posted April 21, 2005 Share Posted April 21, 2005 got a new piece of lr yesterday bought it cause it has a ton of stuff on it lots of red and bright orange corraline growth a large 1 1/2" either a clam or one of those things you find on pieces of driftwood washed up on shore -the little filaments come out of the shell to filter feed- shell is usually white with orange edges- this one is encrusted w/ coral but definately alive cause it moved theres a bunch of flate sponge on the rock too all in all not bad at $6.99 a pound then theres like 5 or 6 bunches of a coral that I don't know what it is anybody know what they are? here is the pic Link to comment

mogurnda Posted April 21, 2005 Share Posted April 21, 2005 Tube coral, Cladocora arbuscula. The clincher is the ribbing on the sides. The white parts are from probably tissue damage from abrasion. It may recover with good conditions and luck. Very hardy coral, and will adapt to a lot of different lighting conditions. Link to comment
