suplements instead of reactor?

i was wondering if you can use a calcuim suplement in stead of getting a calcuim reactor for SPS and if you can then does anyone else on the forum do this?

You definitely can, especially for a nano tank.

 

I like to dose kalkwasser, but other people use the 2 part additive stuff and say it works really good too.

I use a mix of lightly-concentrated kalkwasser in my auto-topoff, and B-Ionic calcium supplement.. I have 2 clams and 7 SPS pieces in my ten... it works just fine, with regular water changes, of course.

so i have a standerd 29gal with a 150watt halide 14k bulb. And i was wondering if i or anyone could keep sps at/close to the sand in the tank?

You could keep montis and porites down there fairly easily... but acros and everything should be towards the top.

I use Ocean's Blend a 2 part product similar to B-Ionic. Have been using it almost a year and a half and like the results.

B-ionic and good old fashioned Kalkwasser have both proven themselves worthy over the years.

You wouldnt nessicarily need kalk... but it is just so easy and it does so many things at once!
