jaynboom
I would like to finish my setup without a skimmer. I don't plan on adding any fish, but I would love some soft corals. The tank is 7.5 gallons, and the refugium is 2.5 gallons. The refugium will be loaded with macro , live sand and live rock. The tank has about 1/2" of aragonite sand and about 15 lbs of live rock. My question is: To keep soft corals and polyps, do I really need a skimmer with all the natural filtration I have? I am new to corals. Thanks. Link to comment
jaynboom
Oops! I have crabs and snails. Also, an anemone that hitchiked on the live rock. (I think it's an anemone) Link to comment
BKtomodachi
Nah, you'll be fine. Also, you're going to want to eliminate the anemone before it spreads. Link to comment

jaynboom
I have two of the Coralife 9" 18 watt CF. (side by side) 36 watts total. Can you recommend some good beginner corals? I love the ones that catch food, and curl up to eat it. Very cool. Thanks Link to comment
MadTownMax
try to find some fuzzy mushrooms, they'll do just that, and they're very easy to keep, and grow quickly. Link to comment
