Thos2go
I just got a halimedia plant and this was inside. I assume it is a cucumber of some sort. It looks like it was munching on the plant. Now, I am fairly new to all this and usually I do all my research myself, but this was unexpected. Any info you can pass on would be helpful (are they pretty hardy? It's in quartine right now, so if it's too stressed from travel and dies will it kill everything off? you know the basic stuff). Thanks Link to comment
lgreen
yes, they are toxic, so if it dies, it has potential to kill everthing. they are somewhat hardy. reproduced by budding, ie, they split in half, and you may have a bunch eventually. also make sure they don't get munched by your powerheads. i would look them up on a good info website, just to get some more basic info. I believe they are primarily detrivores/algae eaters. hope that gets you started Link to comment
Thos2go
Hey thanks for the info Igreen. Could it be a Tiger Tail Sea Cucumber? Link to comment
lgreen
yes. maybe not a "Tiger" tail, but something very similar. That's kind of what i was thinking, it looks like one of those detrivore type. not the small cucumbers that are mainly algae eaters you find on the glass Link to comment
Thos2go
It's about 4 inches long. Is this going to be too big for my 26 gal bow. I read on Liveaquaria.com that Tiger Tail cucumbers should have about 3" for every 20 gallons of water. Link to comment
BKtomodachi
Ugh, stop reading liveaquaria.com! They suck at everything... Link to comment
