Strife
just wanted to know who (im sure people has done it or at least thought about it) microwaves their water cuz they cant afford another heater...or is just too lazy to wait for the water to warm up with a heater... I have done it once..and i also know people who has done it... the question is..has anybody ever done research about it and if theres any effects to the water that could be harmful for my inhabitants.. Christopher Marks
I did it once when I had to do an emergency water change and the water was heating too slow I have no idea as the effects that it might bring. Everything was ok. Only difference I noticed was my clown fish seemed to have grown a third eye. X) Link to comment

MrConclusion
Microwave will not effect water chemistry in any significant way. All that the microwave does is make molecules vibrate, which generates heat. Just leave the fish and corals in the tank they are not microwave safe. Link to comment
