Korbin
I have a weird type of algae in my tank. I set up a 12 gallon about 5 months ago with mostly base rock. To make a long story short, the algae that ended up dominating my tank is a maroon colored slime. It grows low and covers patches of the rocks. Never the sand bed, and never on the glass. On the edges of the rocks, in areas of higher light, it formes squishy bubbles. The bubbles are always smaller than blueberries and are the same maroon color underneath, and pinkish on top. Clear slime comes out when I pop them. It looks good, in my opinion, so I'm not too worried about it. Its not an epidemic. But there's a lot of it there. But I'm just wondering if anyone else has this? Does anything eat it? My hermits and banded trochus snails don't touch it. I have 1 32 watt 50/50 PC for lighting. Link to comment
printerdown01
I have a maroon bubble in my tank. I haven't popped it, so I can't attest to the release of slime. I only have one, and it certainly doesn't seem to be spreading, so I left it there. It is actually rather interesting... Link to comment
