Pattrick Star
On the Open Brain Coral if you look close you will see on the bottom left of it the tenacales are extended. This never happened at my LFS while it was there for 3 weeks i was told. Link to comment

Rock Anemone
Yikes! I'd watch out, that looks like a maxima, make sure your lighting is high, it almost looks clear... And, that isn't an X-mas tree coral, it's a carnation coral. They do very poor in the reef aquarium. I suggest you take it back as it will die soon, sry... They are beautiful though! Sahin
A nicely shaped brain coral. They happen to be one of my fav corals. Your one looks a little light in colour--did it bleach recently? Link to comment
Sahin
Ooh clam--one of my fav reef creatures. Make sure the calcium is kept up and the lighting is good. Good luck with the clam. Link to comment
MrConclusion
That is sold around here as "carnation" coral. I have a frag that has done very well.. a slow but steady grower and it loves phyto. Link to comment
MrConclusion
Oops I see that someone already named it. Sorry Rock. I haven't had a problem with mine. It is in moderate light, moderately low water movement, but it is in a tank that gets fed twice a day. This may contribute to success, as the guy is a serious filter feeder. Make sure you have no mechanical filter on the tank. Here's what leeps mine happy, hope it helps you... 10 gallon w/ 2x28watt 03/10K PC in a converted Eclipse 1 hood. 1 micro-jet in addition to eclipse pump. bio wheel running, but no other media pH 8.3 KH 9-11 calcium 440-480 nitrate <10ppm 79 degrees thanks to EBO JAGER 11 hour light cycle 2 firefish various zoos big green frogspawn (9 heads now woooo-hoooo!) Pattrick Star
Hi to all, I would like to share this with all of you. If you want waves in your tank and are using a power head, Simply take off the fan shaped deflector from the nozzle of the power head and file or sand down the fit between the two. You will know you have done enough removal when the fan deflector free falls on the nozzle when clipped on. Now when the flow passes thru the fan shaped deflector it will move up and down vertically causing a wave action in the tank. It is a cheap no money alternative to simulate waves in your tank. Anyone need any other info on this you may e-mail me. I can do a small video on it as it is working in my tank and send it to you, Thanks Again Pat R. Fasano. Link to comment
