Looselyhuman
I'd really appreciate it if folks from NR would weigh in on this thread: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthre...threadid=562880 It's in my 12g NanoCube DX... Thanks! Ian Link to comment
Caesar777
I'd say Kenya or Nepthea tree. Definitely not Anthelia, which grows as individual polyps rather than several coming off of one branch. How soft are the stalks? On Kenyas/Neptheas it's pretty stiff (for a softy), and on polyps like xenia and anthelia it's very soft and squishy. Link to comment
Looselyhuman
It's definitely not very soft. The stalks feel more like the semi-rigid tissue of Sarcophyton or Sinularia... Link to comment
FAC_WNY
Capnella possibly? Cheers, Fred Link to comment
Looselyhuman
Thanks Fred... There are similiarities, but the large clusters of Xenia-like polyps are pretty different. I'm stumped. Link to comment
technoshaman
I had one like that that was very spiny, similar polyps but more branching that I had id'ed as a Litophyton spp. Can you get a pic with the polyps retracted maybe? Looks a lot like a capnella species too. Link to comment
Tomaso_Pantera
What size is it at now? If it is only around 3 inches tall and aroun dI would say it is a developing Kenya tree coral. They stay short and stubby for a while untile they get used to your lighting and water parametes then they stretch out. BTW they realy like high to mederate lighting and moderate water flow.
