After 12 months the color shift usually grows exponentially and when/if they are changed the corals may not like it too much. Kinda a shock to be exposed to bright light all the sudden. If you've ever changed a PC that is over 12 months old you WILL see what I'm talking about when you compared a new bulbs brightness/color to the old one:o. Cameron Link to comment
Christopher Marks Posted November 5, 2002 Share Posted November 5, 2002 Yes, you could get away with 12 months, but you'd be better off doing it sooner. Bulbs with faded spectrum can cause algae to take off too. We should get a poll of when people change their lamps. Link to comment
