jcm1229 Posted November 4, 2002 Share Posted November 4, 2002 I've got an AllGlass top for a 10g. There is a 1 inch black strip that hinges the 2 parts together. I will be running 2x36W pc on this tank. Will I lose a lot of light because of this?? SHould I remove it and just use the glass panes?? Any other suggestions?? Link to comment
tinyreef Posted November 4, 2002 Share Posted November 4, 2002 i always remove the strips. i figured a loss of 5%~10% of light being shaded from the versa strips or the bonded ones and the size of the tank in question. (e.g. 10"x20" minus 1"x20" hinge) Link to comment
ross76053 Posted November 4, 2002 Share Posted November 4, 2002 Hmmm...I've got the same 10g setup w 2x36 PCs on mine. Never thought of removing the plastic piece. Nice to have the "hinge" effect for feeding, though. With 2x36 PCs, the 5% or so light loss shouldn't hurt you. Link to comment
