BKtomodachi
I got a little chunk of bali green slimer pretty much for free today... do you think I can get it to come back? I'm guessing with time and care I can. The previous owner had a rock shift which shoved this coral into the sand bed and tore it up pretty bad, I guess. Link to comment
FAC_WNY
Is that a pod in the background?!! Is the frag really THAT small? lol It still looks viable to me... And that's the way a sandbed should look... Cheers, Fred Link to comment
BKtomodachi
Its actually crushed coral... I was planning to make the switch to sand after I switched from my old 5 gal minibow, but when I set this ten up I had to do it quickly becuase of a leak... therefore no time for new substrate... now I'm just lazy really. Fred- lol, no, thats one of my 2" detritus eating shrimp. They are just clear like pods... The live area is about 1/8-1/4" across. Link to comment
Reefer Addict
Go for it! The piece looks like it has a lot of potential.. Concerning the sandbed/crushed coral.... The only time mine was completely clean was when I first started the tank. Link to comment
BKtomodachi
So far I'm getting good extension today and am planning to move it to a higher flow, higher light area. Link to comment
bobioden
The part that is left looks very healthy. Nice color and polyp extension. Mine loves lots of light and tons of flow. Bob Link to comment
BKtomodachi
Yeah, I moved it up towards the halide and it gets blasted by the powersweep as well. Its looking even better! Link to comment
ccjung
Lets hope it pulls through. Glad im not the only one who banks on that cheap, ever so unreliable powersweep. Chris Link to comment
BKtomodachi
Hey they are awesome if you clean them often enough... otherwise they stop "sweeping". Link to comment
tike
I think you can definately save it. Slimmers have always performed very well for me. It will take a little time but with patience it will recover. Link to comment
