This strange thing started growing with the green alge that has ovdertaken my tank.

I am not sure what it is but it is circular in shape and is white. I was hopeing sombody could help identify it. I assume it is another form of alge but I have no idea.

 

I am i nthe process of gettign rid of the alge. Sorry for the poor quality.

the white is a macro, it is good, so leave it. i have some similar but brown, it grows slowly, and is easy to remove when it gets too large jen

Yep, it's a Macro algae. A. Padina sp. It's a brown algae known to store calcium carbonate. Hopefully it will grow and your green hair algae will subside.
