Dazed1
Is it reef safe ? I currently have a small "brown" algae problem and was considering it. Is it reef safe ? will it be ok with my blue legged crab's/snail's and perc clown ? Link to comment
IllusionaryDreams
Generally NO, Chocolate Chip stars are NOT reef safe. I've seen my friend's eat most of his snails, a horseshoe crab and a flame scallop. I've heard they will even eat some corals. Better to stay away from the CCS. Link to comment
Dazed1
ok cool. How abt a horse-shoe crab ?? i plan on adding one to move the sand around as well. Link to comment
Physh1
In my opinion a horseshoe crab (small!!) will be ok in there if it is your only sand sifter. If you have cucumbers or hermits in there too i'd probably pass on the HSC. He could strip your sand bed of it's critters pretty quick! On the Choc. chip the previous advice is good. They are predatory stars and do not really go for algae. Snails are your best bet for that:D The Choc. chips will eat polyps, scallops, zenia, etc. Not really tank friendly. Cameron Link to comment
