jenniebutterfly
i bought some new blue rics yesterday and it has some encrusting coral on the rock with it. i was thinking it was encrusting gorgonian, but i am not sure. the part where the polyps come out is light tannish gray, and it is smooth and shiny when the poylps are retracted. the polyps themselves resemble star polyps a lot, but they are brownish colored. jenniebutterfly
well, i know they are nt brwn star polyps, and yes i know not all are green, but brown star polyps do not have a flat met, my sister in law has them upstairs, and i looked, hers are on a brown bumpy mat. these are completly smooth until the polyps start to come up, then a small bump forms, then the polyps come out. MaryHM
Probably Erythropodium caribaeorum, an encrusting gorgonian. Link to comment
