renichms
A few of my zoanthid polyps just let brown-black ribbon-like things directly out of their centers. They let them get long, then let go of them. The polyps don't close up or lose their color at all. Any idea what this could be? RN Link to comment

FAC_WNY
Could be excretion or just release of some excess zooxanthellae (not to be confused with bleaching, corals that are highly illuminated often release some excess cultured zooxanthellae to keep from being "overrun") Cheers, Fred Link to comment
renichms
Thanks for the info. The only page I found with any similar info was about clams ejecting extra, so thought the coral might also but wasn't sure. RN Link to comment
