Snails and Acrylic

My minibow 5 tank is, obviously, acrylic. The back side of the tank, where the snails spend most of their time, is extremely scratched up. Because they keep it clean, I have not had to wipe the back glass. The front, where they do not spend much time, is not scratched, although there is one bad scratch near the edge, which is near a powerhead and where snails hang out sometimes. Can snails scratch acrylic? I have nothing else in the tank that goes anywhere near, excepting a clownfish that I highly doubt could do it.
