flaunt
I just added a 36W PC .03 Actinic bulb to my 10g to supplement my 50/50 VHO bulb. First thing I noticed was that the corals almost instantly appeared to open up more, looking more healthy and vibrant! I was a bit surprised and then I turned off the actinic and thought perhaps there's some sort of illusion going on here. Is it possible that the blue color just makes the corals appear more healthy and bigger or do actinics really make them healthier and bigger? Link to comment
tinyreef
maybe ??? wonder if that works in the bedroom too. : the photosynthetics really do need the actinics. just as a plant will grow toward the light corals definitely react as well, once you activate the chlorophyll. Link to comment

Guru_Del
Not to be a horticulture nerd or anything but plants (terrestrials anyways) grow away from the dark not towards the light. Link to comment
